Fruit for our 2007 Charmstone was harvested from select vineyards in a handful of the Napa Valley's renowned appellations, including Oakville, Rutherford, Stags Leap and Carneros.  Known for their distinct terroir, each of these appellations imparts its unique characteristics in the fruit, contributing to Charmstone's overall complexity.  The vintage displays a deep ruby hue and inviting nose of cherry, blackberry and black currant fruit enhanced by subtle hints of toasty oak, cinnamon and cream.  The palate is taut and intense with dark berry, plum and red cherry fruit clinging to firm tannins.  The dark flavors develop into notes of cocoa, vanilla and coffee over the lingering finish.  This wine will pair beautifully with lighter dishes like grilled shrimp and stuffed eggplant as well as the usual array of steaks and chops.
